Issuing and changing tour guide cards is more than 3 times more expensive.

From the beginning of the year to December 11, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assessed to issue new, change, and reissue 40 tour guide cards, more than 3 times more than in 2022. Of which, 17 international cards and 23 domestic cards were issued.

The reason is that tourism activities are bustling again after the Covid-19 pandemic, the demand for tour guides has increased accordingly. Some tour guides are due to renew or reissue their cards (5-year term).

In order to improve the quality of the tour guide team, in 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized training courses to improve skills and professional tourism services for nearly 100 people; opened 3 training courses to improve skills in reception, guiding, and explaining tourism at the site for nearly 200 cultural officials of communes, towns, relic management boards, tourism collaborators, etc.
