Beyoncé "captures the hearts" of North American audiences

After the resounding success of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour", singer Beyoncé also released her own "blockbuster".

Her documentary “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé” topped the North American box office in its opening weekend with $21 million from 2,539 theaters. “It’s a strong domestic opening for a concert documentary,” said David A. Gross, an analyst at Exhibitor Relations, a film market research firm. He attributed the results to “impressive critical reviews and audience scores.”

Released in theaters on December 1, "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" quickly received rave reviews from film critics. The film received a 100% positive rating from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, while its audience score was also up to 99%. In addition, the film also brought in an additional $6.4 million from 94 markets outside of North America.

According to Mr. Gross, the 2-hour, 48-minute film, written, directed and produced by Beyoncé herself, is now in the Top 5 concert films with the most impressive openings of all time, led by "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" with an opening revenue of $92.8 million earlier this year. Notably, both "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" and "Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé" are distributed by AMC Theaters.

Beyoncé's "Renaissance World Tour" was a huge success, grossing nearly $600 million in ticket sales. It is the eighth highest-grossing tour of all time and the second highest-grossing tour by a female artist. "The film captures all the spectacle and energy that made Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour legendary," said Deadline critic Katie Campione.

In addition to the epic performance footage from her "Renaissance World Tour", Beyonce also introduced to the audience behind-the-scenes footage, her rest and preparation for each night of her performance. The Guardian newspaper had many beautiful words to honor Beyonce, saying that she is "a worthy standard for the entertainment industry to follow".

Meanwhile, Variety magazine called Beyoncé "pop's most enduring role model." The Los Angeles Times said her film shows a "feast of talent, but also the dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance needed to succeed."
