Diversified transmission channels

Hai Duong Newspaper Fanpage is one of the few Fanpages of local Party newspapers to be granted a blue tick. With more than 103,000 likes and more than 149,000 followers (as of early June 2024), Hai Duong Newspaper Fanpage is an address that provides useful, reliable, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional information about events and issues in Hai Duong province and many domestic and international information that the public is interested in. In addition to the main fanpage, since 2023, Hai Duong Newspaper has also established many satellite fanpages to post information according to content and topics. In order to increase interaction and spread information promptly to readers, Hai Duong Newspaper regularly organizes livestreams of events that people are interested in.

Also from the information on the fanpage, many readers commented and shared more useful information, thereby suggesting more interesting and current topics for the newspaper. For example, when the Hai Duong Newspaper Fanpage posted information about an abandoned project that caused land waste, readers commented and pointed out many projects in other localities. The fanpage has become an information channel connecting with readers everywhere, becoming a rich and quick source of information for the newspaper.

Along with fanpage, Hai Duong Newspaper develops social networking channels such as Zalo, YouTube... In 2024, the newspaper aims to develop YouTube channel as a breakthrough.

Hai Duong Radio and Television Station focuses on developing information channels on digital platforms.

Hai Duong Radio and Television Station currently has 3 social media channels to spread copyright propaganda products. The station's fanpage, which was established nearly 6 years ago, currently has more than 170,000 followers. After 2 years of construction, the YouTube channel has more than 7,000 registered accounts, and the TikTok channel has more than 180,000 followers.

Hai Duong Radio and Television Station regularly livestreams evening news programs on Facebook and YouTube. Journalist Nguyen Thien Tan, Head of the Electronic Information Department, said: “With just a smartphone, audiences can access information provided by Hai Duong Radio and Television Station. Digital platforms help the station's works be released quickly, conveniently and effectively. Audiences have more options in receiving and grasping information.”

Increase interaction

In May 2024, Hai Duong Newspaper had an article that caused a "storm" on social networks, becoming an online phenomenon, which was the article "The truth is revealed through the phenomenon of Thich Minh Tue". The article received many comments praising its frankness, boldness, and hitting the issues of public concern from famous journalists, writers, and readers of all classes. Or events such as people taking to the streets to take "offering" photos on Facebook, tragic fires... were all organized by Hai Duong Newspaper Fanpage to inform readers of their interests.

It can be said that the press and social networks have a multi-dimensional, mutually supportive relationship. While the press plays an important role in providing official and in-depth information, social networks have become a rich and fast source of information for users. Many traffic accidents and fires are posted on social networks by individuals first, becoming a source of information for the press. When the press sends reporters to capture additional official information with specific information about the incident, analyze the problem, the current situation and solutions... and post it on their fanpage, the information quickly spreads more widely, attracting more readers because they always trust official sources of information.

There is also a view that traditional press is facing fierce competition with social networks due to the ability of social networks to spread information quickly and uncontrollably. However, when press agencies take advantage of social media channels in propaganda, this is an opportunity for the press to expand its readership and interact with readers more effectively.

Not only newspapers and magazines have social media channels, but also district-level radio stations are now taking advantage of this platform for development. Along with listening to the radio, the public in localities can access information in the form of text news or video images.

Journalist Le Ta Son, Deputy Head of Cam Giang Radio Station, said that the way of posting information on social networks is different from traditional methods. To increase competitiveness, information on Fanpage may not need to be a complete journalistic product but can only be initial information that attracts attention and interest from readers. The advantage of social networks is that readers can quickly express their opinions and emotions, and can even provide additional data and information related to the posted news. Thanks to that, two-way interaction is always lively, adding motivation and encouragement to journalists.

Thanks to the Fanpage "Thanh Dong Ngay Moi", reporters of Hai Duong City Radio Station also receive suggestions from readers for topics and propaganda issues. The page "Thanh Dong Ngay Moi" managed by Hai Duong City Radio Station regularly updates current events and multi-dimensional information in the city. At the same time, this fanpage also actively shares information on social networking sites of press agencies in the province. "The station uses social networks to transmit information and also through social networks to receive and process information. In the coming time, the station will research and develop other digital platforms to widely disseminate information about Hai Duong City, not only to the people of the city but also in other areas", informed Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Head of Hai Duong City Radio Station.
