Impressive concert program celebrating 50 years of Vietnam - Japan relations

The Consulate General of Vietnam, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai and the local government have successfully organized a concert with the theme "Transcending time, connecting friendship, towards the future" in Sakai city, Osaka prefecture.

This is one of the activities in Japan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Attending the concert were Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu - Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takei Shunsuke, Mayor of Sakai City Nagafumi Hideki, leaders of friendship associations, representatives of consulates general of countries in the Kansai region such as India, Philippines, Russia... and nearly 1,500 music lovers in Japan.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu welcomed the efforts of both sides to organize this meaningful concert event and expressed his gratitude for the participation of conductor Honna Tetsuji - who has been associated with Vietnam for many years - and famous violinist Bui Cong Duy and artists from the Vietnam and Osaka Symphony Orchestras.

Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu assessed that this concert and a series of other cultural activities held in both countries in the coming time will contribute to promoting cultural exchange and connection between the two peoples, which is the foundation for building a strong relationship between the two countries in the coming time.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takei Shunsuke congratulated the success of the first event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations in the region, assessing that the relationship between the two countries is at its best. He emphasized that Japan and Vietnam have consensus from high-ranking leaders to the people on further promoting bilateral friendly cooperation.

The Secretary of State said that 2023 is a special time for both sides to review the achievements of the past 50 years of relations and agree to strive for even better relations in the next 50 years.

Previously, during his visit to Japan, Deputy Minister Pham Quang Hieu paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of Sakai City, received leaders of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai City, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association of Kansai region, and met with representatives of Vietnamese associations living, studying and working in the region such as the Vietnamese Association in the Kansai region, the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Osaka, and the Vietnam-Japan Trade Association.
