On May 23, Adobe Inc. announced that it will add artificial intelligence (AI) technology to serve image creation in Photoshop, the company's leading photo editing software.

Adobe Inc said this is the beginning of a major "push" to add AI technologies to the company's professional creative programs.

Currently, programs like OpenAI's Dall-E, although widely known to the public for its ability to convert text suggestions into images, have not been adopted by large corporations due to legal issues related to the image data used to develop the systems.

Adobe has sought to address these concerns with a core technology system called Firely, which is specifically created with image data that can be legally used.

Adobe says the system is ready for commercial use. Adobe has been testing the system for about six weeks on an independent website.

The company said on May 23 that it has added features to Photoshop, its most popular product.

A new feature called "Generative Fill," will let users expand over-cropped original images, using computer-generated content or adding lines based on text descriptions.

This feature can also allow you to take a photo of a flower and then draw a field of flowers with a mountain range behind it.

Ely Greenfield, Adobe's digital media engineering lead, said the tool's purpose is not to replace graphic artists, but to help them create new images faster, from more ideas.

Previously, they had to spend hours searching for image files and manually cropping available images, but with the new tool, image production will be significantly accelerated.
