Themed "Hai Duong city - New vitality," this year's street festival is expected to be held at the October 30 Square and the western urban area of the city.
The 2019 traditional street festival (Carnaval) will be held on October 26 evening after a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision recognizing the expanded Hai Duong city as a 1st-class urban area and mark the 215th founding anniversary of Thanh Dong (old name of Hai Duong city) (1804 - 2019) and the 65th liberation anniversary of Hai Duong city (1954 - 2019).
Themed "Hai Duong city - New vitality," this year's street festival is expected to be held at the October 30 Square and the western urban area of the city and telecast live by VTV1 channel of the Vietnam Television.
This is the second year the provincial authorities have organized a street festival.
The city authorities are coordinating with an event organizer to work out a detailed scenario using special artistic genres bearing the provincial imprints like cheo (traditional operetta), ca tru (ceremonial singing), water puppetry, etc.
* To celebrate the expanded Hai Duong city's satisfaction of all criteria of a 1st-class urban area, the city authorities will coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize the 2019 Vietnam trade village and one commune one product (OCOP) fair.
Expected to be held from October 26 - 31 on Vo Nguyen Giap boulevard, the fair will feature the participation of provinces and cities in Hong river delta with about 150 - 200 booths introducing products of trade villages and each locality.
On October 26, the city authorities will organize an international workshop to promote processing in association with sale of farm produce of Hong river delta localities at Nam Cuong hotel.
