Prizes of Chung, Day Cake Contest awarded

The Organizing Board of Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival on February 22 morning (lunar January 15) summarized the 7th Provincial Chung and Day Cake Contest and awarded 21 prizes.

Regarding chung cake (square glutinous rice cake) competition, one first prize went to the artisan team from Ke Sat district town (Binh Giang), one second prize was taken by the artisan team from Tong Xa hamlet, Thai Thinh commune (Kinh Mon), and nine third prizes were given to the remaining teams.

As for day cake (round glutinous rice cake) competition, the artisan team from Bo Da hamlet, An Lac commune (Chi Linh), secured the first prize, the artisan team from Tong Xa hamlet, Thai Thinh commune (Kinh Mon), snatched the second prize, and the remaining four teams shared the third prize.

The chung cake team from Ke Sat and the day cake team from Bo Da will represent the province to attend the National Chung and Day Cake Contest 2016 at Hung Temple Festival (Phu Tho).

On the morning of the same day, the Organizing Board of Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival and numerous visitors from everywhere also held a ceremony to offer incense and the chung and day cakes of the contest to Con Son pagoda and the temples of Nguyen Trai, Tran Nguyen Dan, Kiep Bac, Nam Tao, and Bac Dau.

This is the 4th year the Chung and Day Cake Contest has been organized at Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival, creating a special cultural highlight attracting a lot of artisans and visitors.
