The planning must preserve the inherent typical ancient cultural features and define objectives and measures to call for investment to exploit potential and strengths for tourism development.

Prof, PhD, architect Nguyen Quoc Thong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects, addresses the workshop

The Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations held a workshop at the Kinh Mon District People's Committee on July 24 morning to give advice to and criticize the task of making a master plan for the preservation, renovation, and promotion of the value of An Phu - Kinh Chu - Nham Duong special national relic complex.

Attending the workshop were more than 20 delegates from the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Provincial Party Committee's Education and Popularization Board, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Provincial Association of Architects, the Kinh Mon District People's Committee, and a number of experts and scientists in the province.

The planning was presided over by the Provincial People's Committee with a total budget of over VND6.5 billion.

The participants offered many ideas to complete the planning layout. Some said that the plan did not clearly show the relationship between the relic complex and the regional relic system, some data and historical and scientific events were inaccurate, the status quo was not carefully assessed, etc.

All of the participants affirmed that the planning was really urgent. It must preserve the inherent typical ancient cultural features and define objectives and measures to call for investment to exploit potential and strengths for tourism development, contributing to the district socio-economic development.
