On May 10, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a cabinet reshuffle, replacing four ministers who plan to run for the European Parliament elections scheduled for June.
Accordingly, this reform is seen as an opportunity to bring new energy to Prime Minister Tusk's government.
According to the reshuffle, the new Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration is Tomasz Siemoniak, replacing Marcin Kierwinski. Siemoniak was Defense Minister in the previous Tusk government from 2011 to 2015. Meanwhile, the new Minister of Culture is Hanna Wroblewska, replacing Bartlomiej Sienkiewicz. Jakub Jaworowski has been appointed Minister of State Asset Management, replacing Borys Budka, and Krzysztof Paszyk will replace Krzysztof Hetman as Minister of Development and Technology.
Since taking power in December 2023, Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government has made decisions to reverse many of the policies of the previous right-wing government led by the Law and Justice party, which had put Poland at odds with other European Union (EU) member states for eight years (2018-2023).
