Mazda EZ-60 electric SUV revealed
Mazda has just released the first images of its electric SUV called EZ-60 for the Chinese market. In other markets, the car is called CX-6e.

Mazda has recently released the first images of its electric SUV called the EZ-60. Mazda representatives have also confirmed that there will be an EZ-60 variant equipped with a 1.5-liter engine that charges the car's battery. The EZ-60 is the model sold in the Chinese market. In other markets, the car is called the CX-6e.
The EZ-60's design is inspired by the Arata concept car that debuted last year, with bolder and more aggressive lines than Mazda's current models. The grille still features the Japanese automaker's signature, with LED daytime running lights added at the bottom edge, and a glowing Mazda logo for increased visibility.
The cockpit is dominated by a 26.5-inch 5K display that spans nearly half the width of the dashboard. In addition, there is a 100-inch head-up display system that uses augmented reality technology (AR-HUD) to display necessary information to the driver. Physical buttons are eliminated, instead the driver controls the vehicle's functions via the touch screen.
In addition, the EZ-60 is equipped with an electronic rearview mirror, which uses a camera and plays back images through two screens in the car. The center rearview mirror is a screen type, and the rear seat passengers are also equipped with separate screens. There are a total of 6 screens in the car.
Other amenities include heating and cooling for both front and rear seats, a 23-speaker sound system, 20 storage compartments, a 126-liter front trunk, a 350-liter rear trunk, expanding to 2,036 liters when the seats are folded.
The EZ-60 has dimensions of length x width x height (mm) of 4,850 x 1,935 x 1,620, with a wheelbase of 2,902 mm. The EZ-60 shares the same specifications as Changan's Deepal S07 high-chassis vehicle, as it is based on the EPA1 platform developed by Changan.
Mazda has not announced the specifications for the pure electric variant, but the hybrid version has been announced. Specifically, the car is equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine, not directly driving but only to charge the 31.7 kWh battery pack. This battery pack is used to provide energy for the 255 horsepower electric motor, driving the rear axle.
