Making fireworks in Thanh Ha, young man from Lai Chau gets 12 months in prison
Ma A Chung (born in 2005, from Ban Hop 2, Dao San commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province) received 12 months in prison for manufacturing firecrackers.
On March 12, the People's Court of Thanh Ha district sentenced Ma A Chung (born in 2005, from Ban Hop 2, Dao San commune, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province) to 12 months in prison for producing prohibited goods. Because Ma A Chung is an ethnic minority, the trial had the participation of the Hai Duong Province Legal Aid Center to defend him.
On December 19, 2024, at Hoang Anh 1 motel, Xuan An residential area, Thanh Ha town, Ma A Chung was making nearly 7.4 kg of firecrackers to sell for profit when he was discovered and arrested by Thanh Ha district police.
Chung is a freelance worker with no criminal record.
