Tranh Temple Festival (Hai Duong) is held on the largest scale ever
The Tranh Temple Festival in the spring of At Ty year 2025 in Ninh Giang district (Hai Duong) is organized on the largest scale ever.
On the morning of March 9, Ninh Giang District People's Committee solemnly held the opening ceremony of Tranh Temple Festival in the spring of At Ty year 2025.
Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, a native son.

A number of members of the Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee; officials of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of a number of departments, branches, and localities inside and outside the province, along with a large number of people and tourists from all over the country attended the festival.
The opening speech of the festival organizing committee affirmed that Quan Lon Tuan Tranh Temple in Tranh Xuyen residential area, Ninh Giang town has a long history and was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2009. The traditional festival of Tranh Temple was included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2022. In 2023, the People's Committee of Hai Duong province recognized the national architectural and artistic relic of Tranh Temple as a tourist destination.
The annual events and festivals at Tranh Temple demonstrate the aspirations and cultural creativity of the local community. The work of preserving and promoting cultural heritage values, including the cultural heritage at Tranh Temple and the intangible cultural heritage of Tranh Temple Festival, has revived the cultural and artistic values of a culturally rich homeland with a long history, contributing to preserving the national cultural identity.
Ninh Giang District People's Committee, together with the government and people of Ninh Giang town, organized the Tranh Temple Festival in the spring of At Ty year 2025 with the desire to continue to protect and promote cultural heritages that have existed for thousands of years.
The Tranh Temple Festival in the spring of At Ty year 2025 will be held from March 7-9 and March 13 at the district level, with many of the largest contents and programs ever.
On the morning of March 9, the festival held a water procession; groups offered offerings; an art program to welcome; and a festival opening program. In the afternoon of the same day, a ceremony to worship the mandarins and the mother goddesses was held; games were organized: smashing clay pots, catching loach in jars, blindfolded goat catching, traditional wrestling, walking on a bridge on land, inflatable volleyball, leather volleyball, clay firecrackers, pushing sticks, etc. In the evening of the same day, a bathing ceremony was held.
Previously, from March 7, within the framework of the Tranh Temple Festival, tug of war, chess, table tennis, badminton competitions, and a welcoming art program were organized. On March 8, OCOP products were displayed, water puppetry performances were performed, a presentation ceremony before the water procession, and a temple opening ceremony were held...
At the festival, the Organizing Committee arranged 10 booths to display 50 OCOP products which are typical products of Ninh Giang, Gia Loc, Thanh Mien districts such as gai cake, guava, ham, honey, wine, etc.
Every year, the main festivals of Tranh Temple are held in February and August of the lunar calendar. There is also the Quan Banh Le on the 25th of the 5th lunar month. The main festival day of the first festival is on the 10th of the 2nd lunar month, which is said to commemorate the birthday of Quan Lon Tuan Tranh. The main festival day of the second festival is on the 22nd of the 8th lunar month, which commemorates the death of Saint Tran Hung Dao - who contributed to the resistance against the Mongol invaders in the 13th century.
