Warning of dire humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip
The Gaza Strip Civil Defense warns that people there are facing an extremely serious humanitarian crisis.

On February 1, the Gaza Strip Civil Defense said they had found 64 bodies in the narrow strip of land along the Mediterranean Sea, warning of a dire humanitarian situation there.
In a statement, the Civil Defense said 37 bodies were found in northern Gaza.
The Israeli side used machinery to remove the bodies from various burial sites around Kamal Adwan Hospital and bring them to a centralized area. Civil defense teams then buried the bodies at the Beit Lahia cemetery.
On the same day, the Gaza Strip health authority said that 27 more bodies had been brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours. Thus, since the conflict broke out between the Hamas Islamic Movement and Israel in October 2023, up to 47,487 people have been killed and 111,588 injured on the Palestinian side. The number of deaths on the Israeli side is more than 1,200.
Officials in Gaza said many more victims were still trapped under rubble and in the streets, where rescue and civil defense teams could not reach.
In a separate statement the same day, the Civil Defense warned that the people of Gaza were facing an extremely serious humanitarian crisis. Tens of thousands of people were left homeless without shelter or basic necessities for survival.
In addition, the area is likely to be hit by multiple storms, posing a serious threat to hundreds of thousands of people living in tents and structurally unsound buildings.
In addition, large amounts of unexploded ammunition and remnants of Israeli military operations remain scattered on the streets, as well as under the rubble of destroyed buildings, posing a danger to civilians.
Therefore, the Gaza Civil Defense calls on the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action to protect the lives of civilians.
