Commenting on weather patterns in February 2025, on February 1, Deputy Head of the Climate Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting Tran Thi Chuc said that during this period, cold air will continue to affect our country's weather and is likely to be more active than the average of many years in the second half of February, causing many days of severe cold.

The average temperature across the country is generally approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period, except in the North and North Central regions, which are 0.5 - 1 degree Celsius lower than the average of many years in the same period.

Total rainfall across the country is generally approximately the same as the average of many years in the same period, except for the Central Central region where rainfall is 10 - 20mm higher than the average of many years in the same period. During the month, the Central region is likely to experience some scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places.

"Dangerous weather phenomena such as fog, thunderstorms, lightning, frost and frost continue to appear nationwide. At sea, cold air can cause strong winds and large waves affecting the activities of ships and boats. On land, cold air can cause many days of severe cold in the North, especially in the northern mountainous areas, with the risk of frost and frost greatly affecting livestock, crops and people's health. Fog can affect visibility, increasing the risk of collisions in traffic activities," Ms. Tran Thi Chuc noted.

Hydrometeorological experts recommend that, in the face of the above weather patterns, people need to regularly monitor forecast and warning information on the website of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at: nchmf.gov.vn, provincial, municipal and regional hydro-meteorological stations; at the same time, regularly update the latest hydro-meteorological forecast information on the official mass media of the Central and local levels to proactively respond.

The government and relevant agencies need to promptly provide disaster forecast information to the people, mobilize, propagate and implement an absolute ban on people's activities in areas at high risk of thunderstorms, lightning, etc. People need to strictly follow the local government's instructions on disaster response and prevention.
