Currently, the price of Thanh Ha guava in the garden has reached 25,000 VND/kg, an increase of 13,000 VND/kg compared to 2 months ago, the selling price in the market is about 28,000 VND/kg, an unprecedented high.
If not affected by natural disasters, Thanh Ha guava trees bring in nearly 500 billion VND in income each year for people in the district.
Guava harvested off-season at this time has a sweet, crunchy taste, is favored by consumers, causing high market demand. However, storm No. 3 caused many gardeners to lose their crops, making guava scarce, most of which have been pre-ordered by customers. Thanh Ha guava is currently an OCOP product of many entities in the district.
Thanh Ha district has a total guava growing area of 1,918 hectares, concentrated in the communes of Lien Mac, Thanh Xuan, and An Phuong. Of these, 853 hectares are planned into 66 concentrated production areas, with 5 areas meeting export growing area code standards on an area of over 72 hectares. In particular, 331 hectares have achieved VietGAP certification, affirming quality and safe production standards.
