The river water was dark black and smelled fishy and foul. Many fish and shrimp died in the Hao Thon River and in the canals that connected to the river. People were afraid of pollution so they did not dare to use the river water to irrigate their crops.

The situation of polluted water in Hao Thon River has happened and recurred many times. The incident that occurred in the beginning of the second quarter of 2024 was reported by voters in Hao Quan village during a direct dialogue with the leaders of Nam Sach District People's Committee.

Many people believe that the cause of the above pollution may be due to the fact that there are many concentrated industrial production activities and large-scale livestock farming on both sides of the river.

Nam Sach district is requested to coordinate with professional agencies to promptly inspect and verify the cause of the above pollution and take measures to handle it according to regulations.
