Ensuring fairness and legitimate rights of people when resolving complaints and denunciations
Supervising the settlement of complaints, denunciations and petitions of citizens, Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council Le Van Hieu emphasized that it is necessary to ensure fairness and legitimate rights of the people.
On the morning of September 26, the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Council deployed supervision of the settlement of complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections of citizens in the province in 2024. The first supervised unit was the People's Committee of Cam Giang district.
Comrade Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Duong province chaired the supervision session.
Comrades Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Khac Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, together with leaders of the Provincial People's Council Committees and representatives of a number of departments, branches and localities attended the supervision session.

At the meeting, the leaders of Cam Giang District People's Committee reported on the settlement of 4 complicated and prolonged petitions from citizens. Among them, there was 1 case of a citizen denouncing the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee; the remaining 3 cases were related to compensation and support when the State reclaimed land.
After listening to the report, Comrade Le Van Hieu requested clarification of details, causes, difficulties and orientations for solutions to each case. He noted that the content of the complaint is complex and needs to be transferred to the police agency for investigation and clarification. For the content of the complaint of a citizen that is not true and continues to complain and denounce many times, it is necessary to publish the conclusions of the competent agency on the mass media to avoid slander, affecting the reputation and image of officials; at the same time, deterring cases of deliberately taking advantage of democracy to file complaints and cause trouble.
Regarding the cases of people and businesses complaining and denouncing about support and compensation when the state reclaims land, Chairman of the People's Council of Hai Duong province Le Van Hieu requested localities and units to review the support mechanisms and policies for people in projects. The support must ensure fairness, not lose the legitimate rights of the people, within the framework of legal regulations. At the same time, focus on propaganda to the people through many channels to clarify the problems and regulations that people do not understand, leading to complaints and denunciations.
On September 26 and 27, the Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial People's Council continued to supervise the People's Committees of Binh Giang, Tu Ky, Thanh Mien and Gia Loc districts.
