Flood on Thai Binh River in Hai Duong City is receding slowly.

According to the Hai Duong Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level of the Thai Binh River at 8:00 a.m. on September 13 in Phu Luong (Hai Duong City) reached 4.36m, 0.36m higher than the level III alarm. The water level of the Thai Binh River in Hai Duong City is showing a slow downward trend. Previously, at 0:00 a.m. on September 13, the water level here reached 4.54m and has been steadily decreasing up to now.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 12-24 hours, the flood on the Thai Binh River in Hai Duong will continue to decrease but still above alert level II; the Red River in Hanoi will decrease below alert level 1.

The Center also warned that the process of flood drainage and reduction on the Red River system is likely to be slow, so flooding will continue for many days in low-lying areas along the river, alluvial areas outside the main dike in the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Hai Duong. High flood levels lasting for many days can cause overflows, breakage of riverbank dykes, landslides of dykes, embankments, seriously affecting vulnerable locations along the river in the localities: Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh...

Currently, the water level of the rivers is decreasing but slowly, the water level is still high in many places. The flood on the Cau River (Bac Ninh) peaked at 7.79m (1.49m above alert level III) at 8:00 p.m. on September 12, 0.05m below the historical flood level in 1971 (7.84m) and is slowly decreasing. The flood on the Thai Binh River in (Hai Duong City) is slowly decreasing. The flood on the Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh) at Ben De peaked at 4.93m (0.93m above alert level III).
