The Golden Canal Bridge worth over 2,100 billion VND connecting Bac Ninh - Hai Duong is about to start construction.

The Golden Canal Bridge project is considered a symbol of development and connection between the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong. The project is invested by the Bac Ninh Traffic Construction Project Management Board (Department of Transport) with a total route length of about 13.4km and a total investment of VND 2,182 billion. The project is of great significance in completing the traffic infrastructure and promoting regional economic development.
Previously, the People's Council of Bac Ninh province issued Resolution No. 366/NQ-HDND dated May 10, 2021, approving the investment policy for the project to build Kenh Vang bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting Bac Ninh and Hai Duong provinces with a total cost of nearly 1,600 billion VND.
However, to ensure practical conditions when implementing the project and in accordance with the adjustment of the 5-year public investment plan of Bac Ninh province's budget (2021-2025), the People's Council issued a Resolution approving the adjustment of the investment policy for the project to invest in the construction of Kenh Vang bridge and the road at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong with the total adjusted investment increased to 2,182 billion VND.
The project has investment capital from the central budget to support the medium-term plan for the period 2021-2025 of 900 billion VND. The remaining investment is from public investment capital from the local budget and other sources (if any).
The project includes the 740-meter-long Kenh Vang Bridge and 12.6-kilometer-long approach roads at both ends of the bridge. The bridge is designed to be permanent, ensuring smooth traffic and transportation of goods between the two provinces. The Kenh Vang Bridge crosses the Thai Binh River, connecting the two districts of Luong Tai (Bac Ninh) and Nam Sach (Hai Duong).
Currently, the Bac Ninh Traffic Construction Project Management Board is completing procedures and preparing conditions to start the project, scheduled for September 7, 2024.
The Golden Canal Bridge not only helps to complete the traffic infrastructure, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Duong, but also creates momentum for economic development, attracts investment and improves people's lives.
