Comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation
At the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin paid a State visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on June 19 and 20, 2024.
Vietnam and the Russian Federation have a traditional friendship and a comprehensive strategic partnership. Vietnam considers its relationship with the Russian Federation to be of strategic importance and considers the Russian Federation a leading important partner in Vietnam's foreign policy. The Russian Federation considers Vietnam a reliable partner and one of the top priorities in Russia's foreign policy in the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2024, the two countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Basic Principles of Vietnam-Russia Friendship Relations, and move towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2025.
