Prepare to organize the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Ceremony - 2023
On the afternoon of January 3, 2024, at Vietnam Television, a meeting of the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the 8th National Press Award on Party building (named Golden Hammer and Sickle) - 2023 took place.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, Comrade Ngo Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Party Building Magazine (Standing Agency of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) said that the works participating in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award this year in central and local press agencies continued to be rich in topics and genres and covered all provinces and cities in the country. Most of the works closely followed hot issues, outstanding events, and key tasks of the political system and the country, many works deeply reflected the current issues of Party building and rectification work. Some works mentioned current pressing issues, with high social criticism and combativeness.
From 120 works selected by the Preliminary Council for the final round, the Final Council reviewed and unanimously selected the best works to award 6 A prizes, 12 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 30 Encouragement prizes and 6 thematic prizes including: Prize for excellent works on organizing the implementation of the Party Congress Resolution; Prize for excellent works on innovation and improving the quality of political and ideological education work; Prize for excellent works on innovation in the Party's leadership and governing methods; Prize for excellent works on protecting the Party's ideological foundation; Prize for excellent works on fighting against "peaceful evolution"; Prize for excellent works on discovering typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.
In addition, the Organizing Committee will award prizes to 15 press agencies, journalists' associations, propaganda departments, and party committees with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the award. This year, the Organizing Committee also selected a number of outstanding figures in the award-winning works to commend and reward.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Award, commended and highly appreciated the serious and objective judging of the Preliminary Council, the Final Council and the active and thoughtful preparation of the agencies and units co-organizing the Award.
The announcement and awarding ceremony of the 8th National Press Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle) - 2023 is an event of important political significance, scheduled to be held on February 1, 2024 on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024). Accordingly, comrade Truong Thi Mai requested the Central Organizing Committee and the co-organizing agencies of the Award to carefully review the assigned tasks, deploy and perform well a number of preparatory tasks for the Award Ceremony such as: Completing the script and reports on the Award; propagating and promoting the Award and the winning works on the mass media to create a ripple effect among cadres, party members and people.
The announcement and award ceremony needs to be organized carefully and solemnly, both politically and artistically, attractively, worthy of a major press award, creating new motivation and spirit, encouraging the entire Party and people to strive to successfully complete the goals and tasks in 2024.
