The highest Tet bonus in Long An is nearly 5.7 billion VND
The General Director of a Japanese-invested enterprise specializing in the design and manufacture of automation equipment and mechanical parts received a Tet bonus of more than 5.68 billion VND.
The above bonus level was announced by Mr. Nguyen Dai Tanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Long An, on the afternoon of December 25, when providing information about the salary and bonus situation for Tet in the area.
The bonus amount is calculated by the company based on salary (VND 235 million per month), work efficiency, and individual contribution. Payment is made by bank transfer. This level is recorded as the highest in the past few years when localities reported Tet bonuses to management agencies.
The enterprise paying the above bonus is located in Long Hau Industrial Park (Can Giuoc district), employing nearly 300 highly skilled and qualified workers related to precision technology.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Long An, the salary and bonus at this enterprise are higher than the average in the whole area. Specifically, the average salary of managers is 40-50 million VND per month, technical workers receive more than 11 million VND per month.

In addition to the above enterprises, Long An conducted a survey on 2024 Tet salary and bonus for 825 enterprises with 105,008 employees. The average bonus in the province is 7 million VND per person, the lowest bonus is 500,000 VND because they have worked for less than 12 months.
The average income in 2023 of workers in Long An will reach 8.3 million VND per month, an increase of 1.22% compared to 2022. Among the types of enterprises, the highest recorded salary paid to workers is 441 million VND per month.
The highest Tet bonus in 2023 and 2022 is VND1,004 billion and VND1,43 billion, respectively, belonging to non-state enterprises in the information technology sector in Da Nang. The highest Tet bonus in 2021 is VND1 billion, belonging to FDI enterprises in the refrigeration and electrical engineering sector in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2020 and 2019, the highest bonus was VND3.5 billion and VND1.7 billion, both belonging to banks.
Recently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor assigned grassroots trade unions to proactively work with business owners to publicly announce plans to pay salaries and bonuses for the Lunar New Year 20 days before the holiday. This year's Tet holiday lasts from December 29, Quy Mao, to January 5, Giap Thin (February 8-14, 2024). The trade union has recommended that businesses publicly announce their Tet bonus plans no later than January 19, 2024.
