"Super thief" Tran Duy Khanh was successfully captured by the people of Don Boi village in coordination with the police of Nam Hong commune (Nam Sach) while sneaking into people's houses to steal.

Together to catch criminals

On the morning of April 20, 2023, while patrolling through Dun village, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam, a police officer of Nam Hong commune (Nam Sach), secretly followed a man with many suspicious signs. The stranger walked on some roads in the village, looking into many houses. At about 10 o'clock, he stopped at Mrs. NTM's house. Seeing that no one was there, this person quickly entered the house to search for things to steal. When he had just stolen an iPhone 8 Plus from Mrs. M's house, Mr. Nam rushed in and shouted for people to join in catching the thief. Immediately, many young men nearby rushed in, some blocking the road, some rushing in to control the subject.

The thief was identified as Nguyen Thanh Nhan (born in 1984, residing in Phu Loc village, Cam Vu commune, Cam Giang). This subject had to go to prison for theft. "Without the timely support of the masses, the police force would have had difficulty quickly arresting Nhan because the subject was strong and resisted fiercely," said Nguyen Huu Nam.

Previously, many people admired the spirit of not fearing danger and being ready to fight against criminals of Mr. Quach Dinh Thanh in Tien village, Lai Cach town (Cam Giang). At 2:15 p.m. on January 24, 2022, on Truong Chinh street, when Ms. Huynh Thi Thu H. in Hai Tan ward (Hai Duong city) withdrew money from the bank and was preparing to get in her car, a subject rushed up, punched her in the face and snatched a plastic bag containing 22 million VND. The subject quickly got on a motorbike to escape. Seeing that, Mr. Thanh came out of the bank and immediately rushed to control the subject. Some nearby people also came to support and arrested the subject. The perpetrator of this brutal robbery was Hoang Xuan Hao, born in 1972 in Tien Trung residential area, Ai Quoc ward (Hai Duong city).

Many collectives and individuals of Van An ward (Chi Linh) were commended and rewarded for their outstanding achievements in the movement to protect national security.

People are always the "eyes and ears" of the government and the police force, regularly detecting and denouncing violations and crimes in the community. From information provided by the people, along with understanding the area, Van An Ward Police (Chi Linh) has just arrested a case of illegal drug use with 3 subjects. The case was solved, contributing to stabilizing the local situation.

According to data from the Provincial Steering Committee 138, in the first 6 months of 2023, the public provided 1,982 pieces of information related to security and order. Of these, 1,287 pieces of valuable information helped the police force investigate, discover and promptly handle 462 cases.

Many effective models

In order to continuously promote the strength of the masses in crime prevention, all levels and sectors always pay attention to developing the movement of the whole people to protect national security. In addition to the common approach, depending on the specific characteristics, each locality chooses to establish a suitable model to effectively promote the strength of the people.

Cam Giang district currently has 5 industrial parks and 2 industrial clusters in operation, attracting about 700 investment enterprises, with 60,000 workers. Around the industrial parks and clusters, some types of theft, environmental pollution, gambling and some other social evils are complicated. To promote the role of the masses in preventing and fighting crime, local levels, sectors, associations and unions have established and maintained 88 self-management models of security and order with about 5,700 participants in communes, towns, agencies, schools and enterprises.

From effective methods, the models have gathered a large number of people to participate. Mr. Le Dac Hoa, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Binh Ward (Hai Duong City) said that in recent times, the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has regularly launched a movement for the people to actively participate in preventing, fighting, detecting and denouncing crimes. Associations and unions have signed a program to coordinate with the ward police in ensuring security and order. At the same time, they have stepped up propaganda and mobilized cadres, members and people to actively comply with the law and proactively prevent and denounce crimes.

According to the Provincial Steering Committee 138, in the first 6 months of 2023, the whole province built 147 models, bringing the total to 1,655 models of the whole people protecting national security in localities, agencies and enterprises. The models are deployed from all levels, sectors, to villages, residential areas, agencies, units, clans, groups and residential hamlets.

Thanks to the participation of the people and the efforts of the authorities, our province now has no more key areas with complicated security and order issues, helping people feel secure in production and business.
