To which agency should I report domestic violence?

Question: My neighbors are a young couple. Recently, the husband has been beating his wife frequently. To which agency and in what form should the wife report these acts?

Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 19 of the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control (DV) 2022 stipulate the reporting and denunciation of acts of domestic violence as follows:

1. Addresses for receiving reports and denunciations of domestic violence include:

a) People's Committee of the commune where the domestic violence occurred;

b) Police agencies and border guards near the place where the domestic violence occurred;

c) Educational institution where the person suffering from domestic violence is a student;

d) Village chief, head of residential group, head of the Front working committee in the residential area where the act of domestic violence occurs;

d) Head of the commune-level socio-political organization where the act of domestic violence occurs;

e) National hotline for domestic violence prevention.

2. Reporting and denouncing acts of domestic violence to the address specified in Clause 1 of this Article shall be done in the following forms: Calling, texting; sending petitions, letters; directly reporting.

Based on the above regulations, you report to the competent authority to prevent and handle violations.
