According to the Department of Industry and Trade, currently, grade 1 markets, markets in urban areas and markets invested and operated by enterprises and cooperatives in our province basically have clean, spacious concrete floors and roads. Market stalls are built solidly or semi-solidly, basically ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety, environmental sanitation and food hygiene and safety.
However, the province currently has 73 grade 3 markets with seriously degraded foundations, market stalls, and internal traffic because investment in market construction, renovation, and upgrading often requires large capital sources, while local budget capital sources are still difficult.
The province currently has 186 markets, of which 3 markets meet the criteria of grade 1 markets and wholesale markets (equivalent to grade 1); 20 markets are planned to be grade 2 and 163 markets are planned to be grade 3.
