Nguyen Danh family cares about promoting learning and talent

The Nguyen Danh Family Promotion Committee in An Binh Commune rewards children with good academic achievements in the 2021-2022 school year.

Before the new school year, many descendants of the Nguyen Danh family gathered to offer incense to commemorate their ancestor Nguyen Quy Cong Tu Minh Chinh. This activity has become a beautiful tradition of the Nguyen Danh family to show gratitude to their ancestors as well as educate the next generation about the family's tradition of studiousness.

Opening the genealogy book, Mr. Nguyen Danh Loi, representative of the Nguyen Danh clan in An Binh commune, said that the clan has existed for a long time and is a large clan in the commune. Around 1700, the ancestor Nguyen Quy Cong Tu Minh Chinh was one of the people who reclaimed land and established hamlets to create today's An Binh commune. Many people in the clan had a high spirit of learning, opened schools and classes to teach literacy and became famous. During the resistance wars, the Nguyen Danh clan had many people who contributed to the revolutionary cause of the nation, including 13 martyrs. When peace was restored, many children of the Nguyen Danh clan were studious, had high educational levels, worked in Party and State agencies or were successful in the business field.

The Nguyen Danh clan in An Binh commune currently has more than 400 families. In 2001, in response to the movement to encourage learning, encourage talents and build a learning society, the Nguyen Danh clan established the Learning Encouragement Fund, creating a solid foundation to promote the learning movement in the clan. When it was first established, the fund had more than 100 million VND and maintained more than 80 million VND each year.

Every year, before the new school year begins, at the ancestral temple, the Family Education Promotion Committee organizes a ceremony to report achievements and commend and reward excellent students, and give gifts to support disadvantaged students in their efforts to study. Over the past 20 years, the Family Education Promotion Committee has rewarded 1,555 students who passed university and college entrance exams, and excellent students at all levels with a total amount of more than 132 million VND.

Thanks to the good implementation of the work of promoting education and talents, many generations of descendants in the family have high educational qualifications, including 1 associate professor, doctor; 10 masters, 155 people with university degrees...

Sharing his experience in promoting learning and talent in the family, Mr. Loi said that it is necessary to always propagate and educate generations to imbue them with the viewpoint "No wisdom, no prosperity", considering the work of promoting learning as the core task of the family. Each individual in the family must clearly define their responsibilities in the work of promoting learning and talent. Timely reward and encourage students with good academic achievements.
