Spring comes, remembering Uncle Ho

On the afternoon of February 15, 1965, Uncle Ho visited Con Son. Here, he read the stele of Con Son pagoda, instructed the cadres, people of Hai Duong and the abbots to actively plant trees to green the relic, making the historical and cultural relic a local tourist attraction.

This spring morning is warm and gentle. Spring has come to the budding buds. The earth and sky are stirring to grow. People's hearts are excited and happy. The country is peaceful, the people are prosperous and it seems that in the quiet moments, everyone remembers Uncle Ho - the great leader of the nation - the one who devoted his whole life to the country and the people!

During his lifetime, when Tet came, Uncle Ho often wrote poems, letters, and New Year greetings to the people of the whole country. The poems were short but meaningful, filled with the leader's burning feelings and aspirations for the people and the country.

Also in the Spring of Quy Mao 1963, exactly 60 years ago, Uncle Ho had a “New Year greeting”. After mentioning the North happily celebrating Tet in peace and sending compliments to the heroes, emulation fighters, cadres, employees of various sectors, and the masses…, Uncle Ho affirmed a truth: “While in the North, we happily celebrate Tet, our hearts are always with our compatriots in the South who are closely united and fighting heroically against the brutal regime of the US - Diem. The more we love our compatriots in the South, the more we must work hard and strive more enthusiastically so that the North and the South can soon be reunited as one family”.

Next, Uncle Ho cordially sent his best wishes:

“On the occasion of the New Year, I would like to send my warm regards to all my fellow countrymen in the South.

Vietnam is one,

We Vietnamese people are one.

Even if the river dries up and the rocks wear away,

People of the North and South are children of one family.

The struggle of all our people to achieve peaceful reunification of the country will certainly be victorious.

On this occasion, I also send my warm regards and praise to our overseas Vietnamese who, despite being in a foreign land, still wholeheartedly turn towards the Fatherland and enthusiastically contribute to building the country.

Uncle Ho has passed away, but his soul, thoughts, style and morality remain forever, serving as an example for Party committees at all levels, governments, sectors, agencies, units and each cadre, party member and citizen to strive to learn and follow, together building the country to become increasingly developed, strong and prosperous, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as Uncle Ho always expected.
