Sentenced Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong to 13 years in prison, Mr. Le Thanh Van to 7 years in prison

This morning, the People's Court of Thai Binh province sentenced defendants Luu Binh Nhuong, Le Thanh Van and their accomplices on charges of 'extortion' and 'abusing position and power to influence others for personal gain'.

Mr. Liu Pingruong was proposed to be sentenced to more than 15 years in prison.

Two former National Assembly deputies Le Thanh Van and Luu Binh Nhuong were assessed by the Procuracy to have profited many times and not represented the people's voice in a fair and objective manner.
No postponement of the trial of Mr. Le Thanh Van and Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong

After deliberation, the Trial Panel decided not to postpone the trial of Mr. Le Thanh Van and Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong.
