Mr. Le Van Luong, 55 years old, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lai Chau province for the 2021-2026 term.
At the meeting on the morning of July 11, Lai Chau Provincial People's Council elected Mr. Luong as Provincial Chairman to replace Mr. Tran Tien Dung, who was transferred to become Deputy Minister of Justice in mid-May.
Mr. Le Van Luong is from Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province; has a bachelor's degree in education, accounting, politics; and a master's degree in economic management.
He has held many positions in Lai Chau province such as Vice Chairman and then Chairman of Than Uyen district; Chairman of Tan Uyen district; Deputy Chief of Office and then Chief of Office of the Provincial Party Committee; Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee.
Since November 2020, Mr. Luong has been the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

Lai Chau is a mountainous province in the Northwest, with an area of over 9,000 km2, ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
