Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival to take place from Feb 25 – Mar 5

Mr. Luong Van Cau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Board of the Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival, concludes the meeting

As planned, the main activities of this year's festival are to take place from February 25 to March 5 (i.e. the 10th – the 18th day of the 1st lunar month).

The focus is March 3 (i.e. the 16th day of the 1st lunar month) with the festival opening ceremony and the announcement of the Prime Minister's recognition of Con Son tu phuc tu bi (stele of Con Son pagoda) as a national treasure.

In the framework of this year's festival, such activities as banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), banh day (round glutinous rice cake), national wrestling, and Chinese chess contests; incense offering ceremonies at Con Son pagoda, Nguyen Trai temple, and Kiep Bac temple; a water procession ceremony; a clay firecracker festival; offering of sacrifices to heaven and earth on Ngu Nhac mountain; etc. will be maintained.

The opening ceremony of this year's festival will be held in front of the bell tower of Con Son pagoda. The site is wide enough for the ceremony to take place solemnly and the participants to move about conveniently.
