The Organizing Board of the Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2017 on August 30 afternoon held a meeting to make preparations for the festival.
This year's Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival is scheduled for September 29 – October 9 (i.e. the 10th – the 20th day of the 8th lunar month) with a wealth of contents.
A proclamation ceremony, a traditional boat race, water puppetry performances, seal opening and seal mark granting ceremonies, the 717th death anniversary of National Hero, Great Lord Hung Dao, an army festival on the Luc Dau river, etc. will take place at Kiep Bac relic site.
At Con Son relic site, there will be an incense offering ceremony at Con Son pagoda, procession, commemoration, and sacrifice ceremonies at Nguyen Trai and Tran Nguyen Dan temples, and many cultural and musical activities.
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Luong Van Cau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Board of the Con Son – Kiep Bac Autumn Festival 2017, required relevant authorities and sectors to focus on reviewing, supplementing, and carefully preparing the devised plan in the spirit of innovation, solemnity, safety, and economy.
Concerned agencies and units should coordinate with local authorities to quickly remove shops from the relic sites in time, promptly pay compensations, clear grounds, and recover three ponds at Kiep Bac temple before the festival.
