The work aims at determining the location and scale of cuu pham lien hoa tower, the patriarch's hall, rear hall, etc. of Con Son pagoda to set up a project for the above items rehabilitation.



The ground-breaking ceremony for archaeological excavation at Con Son pagoda

The Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board, in coordination with the Institute of Archaeology held a ground-breaking ceremony for archaeological excavation at Con Son pagoda relic on the morning of 11 December.

The excavation site covers the front yard and the back of Con Son pagoda's patriarch's house, the longan garden, including 3 excavation pits with a total area of 400m2 and 4 exploratory, investigative pits of 5m2 each. The work aims at determining the location and scale of cuu pham lien hoa tower (9-storey lotus-shaped tower), the patriarch's hall, rear hall, etc. of Con Son pagoda to serve as a scientific basis to set up a project for the above items rehabilitation. The Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board is responsible for keeping, preserving to avoid damage, loss of the objects collected during the exploration, excavation. The excavation is carried out until 22 January 2013. Its investment capital is taken from donation source.
